CLUB GUIDELINES

as of February 2008

  1. Wherever we go, we arrive and depart in an orderly fashion. Any member who brings grief on the club, either at a bar, the drag strip, or from local police, will be ejected from the club.  Our goal is to be welcome wherever we go and any member wearing out that welcome will be banned for life.

  1. No heavy drinking and racing.

  1. Any member leaving the club for ANY reason what so ever is expected to remove their windshield decal within a 7-day period.

  1. Respect the rules and regulations of any drag strip we attend.  These rules may include: not using air conditioning or icing of the engine and the use of seatbelts and other safety equipment (cages, helmets), when applicable.  Always review the Rules and Safety Requirements for any drag strip before you race.

  1. Midwest Racing does not condone, support, or promote organized street racing.  What our members do on their own time is their business, but this is the club's official stand on this dangerous and illegal activity and we will not participate.

  1. Monthly Meetings: Club meetings are held on the first Sunday of every month and all members are expected to attend. Valid excuses can be work, family emergency, illness, jail, or death. Other excuses will be considered. A phone call is required either 48 hours prior to or after said event unless you’re dead.

Dues are to be collected at meetings. Any member who falls three months behind in dues will be given 90 days to get caught up or be ejected from the club. Special circumstances will be considered and members may qualify for our dues relief program. (see #10)

Voting will be done at meetings. Club issues will be discussed and voted on by members present at the meeting. Issues will be passed or failed by majority vote. If a member does not show up for a meeting, said member forfeits rights to vote on issues brought up at the missed meetings.

  2. Regular Season Race Dates: Members are expected to attend the Regular Season race dates whether they're racing or not. Although no one is forced to race, we do encourage everyone to come out and support those who do. As with meetings, a phone call and valid excuse is required within 48 hours prior to or after said event.

    Exhibition Race Dates:
Exhibition race dates will be added to our racing season, but do not count toward our Regular Season trophy races.

  1. Three Strike Rule: Any member who misses 3 pre-scheduled events in a one year period without valid excuses, will be ejected from the club. Valid excuses can be work, family emergency, illness, jail, or death. Other excuses will be considered. A phone call is required either 48 hours prior to or after said event unless you’re dead.   The one year period will be from the date of the first strike.

  1. Leaves of Absence:  A leave of absence will be considered on an individual basis. Any member requesting a leave needs to present his / her reasons to the officers of the club. Terms of leave: leaves will be granted for almost any valid reason with the following conditions: dues are current and up to date. The member is responsible for keeping the club up to date on his / her status and approximate return date.

  1. Dues Relief:  Payment of dues may be suspended if a member falls on hard times such as loss of job, unexpected medical expenses, or any valid reason. This is designed to help members who may otherwise take a leave of absence because they think that is their only alternative. Members on this plan are still required to attend meetings and other club functions as to stay active within the club. This is a ninety day plan and will be renewable until the member is back on their feet. If the member chooses to attend a paid club function, said member will pay a greatly reduced guest fee.
