RULES & REGULATIONS

as of March 2010

  1. Wherever we go, we arrive and depart in an orderly fashion.  Any member who brings grief on the club, either at a bar, the drag strip, or from local police, will be ejected from the club.  Our goal is to be welcome wherever we go.  Any member wearing out that welcome will be banned for life.

  1. No air conditioning on the drag strip property.

  1. No heavy drinking and racing.

  1. Unexcused absences: The club depends on its members to show up for meetings and race dates. Meetings are important to keep members informed on club activities and to collect dues to be able to afford the club functions. Race dates are important so that the club maintains a good relationship with Byron Dragway and so that the member stays competitive in the point’s race. Any member not being able to attend a meeting or race date is asked to contact the president of the club within 48 hours either prior to or after said meeting or race date with a valid excuse. Too many unexcused absences will result in that member being asked to either shape up or ship out.

  1. Dues are to be collected at meetings.    The dues we pay go for all the club benefits such as the camping trip, Christmas party, Memorial Day picnic, end of season party, racing trophies, and other club expenses. It is imperative that members do their best to stay current or get caught up on their dues in a timely manner. This is the only way we can keep the treasury up to date and pay for the club activities and supplies.

  1. Voting will be done at meetings.  Club issues will be discussed and voted on by members present at the meeting.  Issues will be passed or failed by majority vote.  If a member does not show up for a meeting, said member forfeits rights to vote on issues brought up at missed meetings.

  1. Club Logo Decal. All members are required to display the club logo on their front windshield to show both their membership and support for the club. Any member leaving the club is expected to remove the club decal within a seven day period except in the case of retirement from the club

  1. Leaves of Absence: will be considered on an individual basis. Any member requesting a leave needs to present his / her reasons to the officers of the club. Terms of leave: leaves will be granted for almost any valid reason with the following conditions: dues are current and up to date. The member is responsible for keeping the club up to date on his / her status and approximate return date.

  1. Dues Relief:  Payment of dues may be suspended if a member falls on hard times such as loss of job, unexpected medical expenses, or any valid reason. This is designed to help members who may otherwise take a leave of absence because they think that is their only alternative. Members on this plan are still required to attend meetings and other club functions as to stay active within the club. This is a ninety day plan and will be renewable until the member is back on their feet. If the member chooses to attend a paid club function, said member will pay a greatly reduced guest fee.

  1. Street Racing:   Midwest Racing does not condone, support, or otherwise promote organized street racing. What you do on your own time is your business. But remember what you do does reflect back on the club. This is our club’s official stand on this dangerous and illegal activity.
